This page details the storage information collected for each of the supported EMC Data Domain Storage Systems discovered in your IT infrastructure.

Storage Systems Information

To get an overview of the storage information discovered for EMC Data Domain Storage systems:

  1. From the Home page, click the Explore menu and select Data.

  2. In the Storage section, click the Storage System icon to display the list of the discovered storage systems.

  3. In the Storage System list, double-click the EMC Data Domain storage system you wish to access.

The table below lists the System Storage Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Storage System InformationDescription
NameThe name of the storage system.
TypeThe type name of the storage system. For example Data Domain.
Client Access TypesThe ways in which a client host can access the storage that this system is providing. This may be SAN, NAS, or SAN and NAS.
VendorThe storage system vendor. For example, EMC.
ModelThe model name. For example, DataDomain DD880.
Software VersionThe version number of the software.
Serial NumberThe storage system serial number. For example, CKM00154301147.
Total Disk SpaceThe total available space in the storage system in bytes.
Total CapacityThe total capacity of the storage system in bytes.
Total Consumed CapacityThe space actually consumed in the storage system in bytes.
Percentage ConsumedThe percentage of space actually consumed in the storage system.
Total Available CapacityThe total capacity not consumed in the storage system in bytes.
Total Oversubscribed CapacityTotal space oversubscribed in the storage system.
Available CapacityThe total capacity available for storage in the storage system.
Storage DeviceLink to the storage device page. Refer to the Storage Devices Information section for details.
Storage PoolsDisplays the number of related storage pools. This is also a link to the Storage Pool List page. To see the storage pool page, click the corresponding table row. Refer to the Storage Pools Information section for details.
Storage Volume MirrorsDisplays the number of related storage volume mirrors. This is also a link to the Storage Volume Mirrors page. 
Disk DrivesDisplays the number of related disk drives. This is also a link to the Disk Drive List page. To see the disk drive page, click the corresponding table row. Refer to the Disk Drives Information section for details.
File SystemsDisplays the number of related file systems. This is also a link to the File Systems List page. To see the file systems page, click the corresponding table row. Refer to the File Systems Information section for details.

Storage Devices Information

A Storage device in BMC Atrium Discovery represents a discovered EMC Data Domain storage chassis . This section provides information about the Storage Device on EMC Data Domain Storage Systems.

To access the collected information for storage devices, click the Storage Device link available in the Storage System page.

The table below lists the Storage Device Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Description
NameThe name of the storage device.
TypeThe type of the host. For example Self-contained NAS.
VendorThe storage device vendor.
ModelThe model name of the storage device.
Testing Status The result of the connectivity test.
Serial NumberThe storage system serial number.
System NameThe storage system name.
System Object IDThe storage device unique identifier.
Firmware VersionVersion of the operation system firmware installed on the storage device.
InfrastructureThe information related to the storage device infrastructure, typically a list of the related storage systems, network interfaces, etc.
Discovery AccessProvides information about the discovery access nodes created for the storage device.

Storage Pools Information

This section provides information about the storage pools for the selected storage system. 

  1. To access the collected information for storage pools, click the Storage Pools link available in the Storage System page.
  2. In the Storage Pools list, double-click the storage pool you wish to access.

  

The table below lists the Storage Pools Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Pool IDThe ID of the storage pool.
Type

The type of the storage pool.

NameThe name of the storage pool.
CapacityThe usable capacity of the storage pool.
Consumed CapacityThe space actually consumed in the storage pool in bytes.
Percentage ConsumedThe percentage of space consumed in the storage pool
Available CapacityThe total capacity not consumed in the storage system in bytes.
Percentage SubscribedThe percentage of space subscribed in the storage pool.
Oversubscribed CapacityThe total space oversubscribed in the storage pool.
Real CapacityThe actual capacity available in the storage pool.
Storage SystemThe name of the storage system for this storage pool. This is also a link to the Storage Systems page. Refer to the Storage Systems Information section for details.
Storage VolumesThe volumes for the storage pool. This is also a link to the Storage Volumes page. Refer to the Storage Volumes Information section for details.
Storage Volume MirrorsThe storage volume mirrors for this storage pool. related storage volume mirrors.

Disk Drives Information

The total number of disk drives associated with a storage entity is displayed on the Storage System page.This section provides information about the disk drives for the selected storage system.

To access the collected information for disk drives, click the Disk Drives link available in the Storage System page.

           

The table below lists the Disk Drives Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Disk Drive Information

Description

Name

The name of the disk drive.

Size

The size of the disk drive in bytes.

Vendor

The name of the disk drive vendor.

Model

The model of the disk drive.

Serial NumberThe serial number of the disk drive.
Current StateState of the disk drive. For example: OK.
Storage SystemName of the storage system for this disk drive. This is also a link to the Storage Systems page.
Chassis SerialThe serial number of the chassis.
Number The number identifying the disk drive in the enclosure.
Enclosure SerialThe serial number of the enclosure.

File Systems Information

The total number of file systems associated with a storage entity is displayed on the Storage System page.This section provides information about the file systems for the selected storage system.

To access the collected information for file systems, click the File Systems link available in the Storage System page.

The table below lists the File Systems Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

File System Information

Description

Filesystem Name

The name of the file system. For exampble, /backup.

KindThe file system kind. For example, EXPORTED.
TypeThe type of the file system. For example, nfs.

Storage System

Name of the storage system for this file system. This is also a link to the Storage Systems page.
Exported PathProvide the name and path of the exported directory and accessible over the network using NFS.
