Discovery Conditions
What are Discovery Conditions?
Discovery Conditions are hints to administrators. They describe configuration issues in an estate that, if resolved, will help Foundation retrieve more detailed or complete data. Doing this improves Foundation's view of the estate, so that users can act on the knowledge it gathers with greater confidence.
Discovery Conditions are detected by patterns and shown through the user interface on any affected Host or using the built-in reports. A number of Discovery Conditions are shipped with BMC Atrium Discovery, and in future more will be made available here on Configipedia.
Contributions?
We encourage your contributions! Please let us know through the forums of discovery issues that you've encountered that an administrator could take some action to fix. We'll see if we can write a Discovery Condition pattern for it.
