Overview

A tag is a label that you assign to cloud resource. Each tag consists of a <tag_name> and an optional <tag_value>, both of which you define.

Tags enable you to categorize your cloud resources in different ways, for example, by purpose, owner, or environment. This is useful when you have many resources of the same type—you can quickly identify a specific resource based on the tags you've assigned to it.

Supported cloud providers

Model

Cloud patterns extract tag information for each modeled resource, if they are supported by the cloud provider, and add the following node attributes:

AttributeDescription
tag_set
A dictionary of all <tag_name> := <tag_value> pairs. Visible in the UI.
tags
A list of all <tag_names>
tag_<tag_name>

all tag_<tag_name> = <tag_value>, where <tag_name> can only contain letters, digits and the underscore character '_'. Special characters, and ':', '-', ' ' must be replaced with an underscore.
