If you have customized the linked universe or copied and modified the reports and you want to move them from one server to another — for example, from a development server to a production server — you can create a Lifecycle Management Business Intelligence ARchive (LCMBIAR) file that contains the customized universe and reports, and then import the LCMBIAR file into another SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise installation. This procedure assumes that the two different SAP BusinessObjects installations are identical (same version, same CMS type, and so on).
To migrate customized universe or reports
- On the server where the customized universe and reports reside, back up the universe or reports. See To back up the universe and reports for more information.
The procedure includes steps for including both the universe and reports into the same LCMBIAR file, but you can include only the universe or only the reports. - Ensure that the backup LCMBIAR file is accessible to the other server.
- On the other server, import the LCMBIAR file.
