Importing an LCMBIAR file into SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence

Use the steps in this topic to import a Lifecycle Management Business Intelligence ARchive (LCMBIAR) file from a local computer or from any other computer.

This procedure applies to SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence 4.0 only.

To import an LCMBIAR file

1. Log on to the SAP BusinessObjects Central Management Console.
2. In the Manage section, click Promotion Management.
3. In the Promotion Jobs home page, click Import > Import file.
   The Import from file window appears.
4. Perform one of the following tasks:
   
   • Import an LCMBIAR file from your local computer, as follows:
     1. Select File System.
     2. Click Browse and select an LCMBIAR file from the file system.
     3. In the Password field, enter the password of the LCMBIAR file.
        The Password field appears only if the LCMBIAR file is encrypted with a password.
     4. Click Create.
        The job is created.
   • Import an LCMBIAR file from any source computer where FTP has been enabled, as follows:
     1. Select FTP.
     2. Enter the appropriate details in the host, port, user name, password, directory, and file name fields, and then click OK.
5. Click Promote.
   The Promote - Job Name window appears.
6. From the Destination drop-down list, select the destination system. Confirm the logon credentials of the destination system.
7. Click Promote to promote the contents to the destination system.
