BMC Analytics for BSM now supports SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.1. You can obtain version 4.1 from the BMC Analytics for BSM Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website. The procedures and screenshots in this documentation portal have been updated to reflect support for the new version.
This version of BMC Analytics for BSM only supports the ITSM universe.
SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.0 continues to be supported.
Beginning this release, you now have the option of reconfiguring an existing instance of BMC Analytics for BSM. A new Reconfiguration Options screen is introduced in the BMC Analytics for BSM 8.1.00 installer. You can select any of the following reconfiguration options from this screen.
For more information about these options and the prerequisites for each of this option, see Reconfiguration options.
The SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform offers a new set of additional reporting options that you can use for your own specific reporting and analysis requirements. These additional new formats are SAP Dashboards and SAP Explorer. To help you understand the additional values that SAP Dashboards and SAP Explorer can offer, the following reference samples are included in this release:

You can use these samples as a starting point for creating more complex and relevant reporting and analysis capabilities while leveraging the underlying BMC Analytics for BSM data models.
For more information about the license requirements for these sample reports, see Extended Analysis Samples. For more information about how to view these sample reports, see Viewing a report.
Note
BMC Analytics for BSM continues to focus on and support only the WebIntelligence reporting option.
Earlier, you had to manually modify the properties of the AR Server and Web Server fields in the ITSM universe and then export this universe to enable the hyperlinks to the BMC Remedy Mid Tier in the BMC Incident Management, BMC Change Management, and the BMC Release Management reports.
Beginning this release, this procedure has been automated. For this, a new Mid Tier URL and Port field has been added on the BMC Remedy AR System Server Administrator Information screen in the BMC Analytics for BSM 8.1.00 installer. You have to enter the BMC Remedy Mid Tier URL and the port number information for this field using the http://<midTierHostName:port> format. This value is stored in a back end table and then automatically used by the Web Server field in the ITSM universe. Additionally, the BMC Remedy AR System server host name value that you enter in the existing AR Server Host Name field on the BMC Remedy AR System Server Administrator Information screen is used by the AR Server field in the ITSM universe.
However, you have to manually add the hyperlinks to the BMC Remedy Mid Tier in the BMC Incident Management, BMC Change Management, and the BMC Release Management reports that don't already have them. For more information, see Configuring the hypertext launch link to BMC Remedy Mid Tier.
