Pure Storage FlashArray Discovered Information (REST)

This page details the storage information collected for each of the supported models of Pure Storage FlashArrays discovered in your IT infrastructure.

Storage System Information

To access the collected information for Pure Storage FlashArray Storage systems:

  1. From the Home page, locate the Quick View section and click the Storage System icon to display the list of the discovered storage systems.

  2. In the Storage System list, double-click the Pure Storage FlashArray storage system you wish to access.

The table below lists the System Storage Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Storage System InformationDescription
NameThe name of the storage system.
TypeThe type name of the storage system.
Client Access TypesThe ways in which a client host can access the storage that this system is providing.
VendorThe storage system vendor.
ModelThe model name.
Serial Number
The serial number of the storage system.
Encryption
Indicates whether the data encryption is enabled (Yes) or disabled (No).
Overall Efficiency Ratio To One Hundred
The range of values that describe the capacity space savings regarding data reduction
Data Reduction Ration To One Hundred
The savings that represents the combination of inline compression and inline deduplication presented as a ratio.
Hardware In Use
Hardware Container(s) used by this Storage System.
Total Disk CapacityThe total available space in the storage system.
Total CapacityThe total capacity of the storage system.
Total Consumed CapacityThe total space consumed in the storage system.
Percentage ConsumedThe percentage of space consumed in the storage system.
Total Available CapacityThe total capacity available for storage in the storage system.
Total Subscribed CapacityThe total subscribed capacity in the storage system in bytes.
Percentage Subscribed
The percentage of space subscribed in the storage system.
Total Oversubscribed CapacityThe total space oversubscribed in the storage system in bytes.
Managed by Storage DeviceThe software managing the storage system and the host on which it is running.
Storage Processors

A summary table showing the storage processors in the storage system. For each processor the following information is displayed:

  • Processor Identifier
  • Vendor
  • Model
  • Firmware
  • Number of FC Ports

To see the storage processor page, click the corresponding table row. Refer to the Storage Processors Information section for details.

Storage VolumesDisplays the number of related storage volumes. This is also a link to the Storage Volume List page. To see the storage volume page, click the corresponding table row. Refer to the Storage Volumes Information section for details.
IPv4 AddressesList of IPv4 addresses used by the storage system.
Network Interfaces
List of the network interfaces related to the storage system.

Hardware Container Information

A Hardware Container in BMC Discovery is a node that regroups all the available information about the discovered hardware components for a storage system. 

To access the collected information for hardware containers click the Hardware Container link available from the Storage System page.


The table below lists the Hardware Container Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Hardware Container
(Main)

Description

NameThe name of the hardware container.
Type

The type of the hardware container:

  • Main Chassis are containers directly attached to the storage system that regroup Expansion Shelf containers and/or provide access to the discovered hardware components metrics.
  • Expansion Shelf containers are part of a Main Chassis container and provide access to the discovered hardware components metrics.
ModelThe model name of the hardware container.
Serial Number

The hardware container serial number.

Disk Drives
The list of the disk drives that are grouped in the hardware container.
Storage Systems
For Main System Chassis type only — Link to the storage system(s) related to the hardware container.
Maintaining PatternLink to the related pattern information.

Disk Drives Information

This section provides information about the disk drives for the selected storage system.

To access the collected information for disk drives, click the Disk Drives link available in the Hardware Container page.

The table below lists the Disk Drives Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Name

The name of the disk drive.

TypeThe type of the disk drive. For example SSD.

Size

The size of the disk drive.

Serial NumberThe serial number of the disk drive.
Hardware Container
Name of the hardware container for this disk drive. This is also a link to the Hardware Container page.

Storage Devices Information

A Storage device in BMC Discovery represents a Pure Storage FlashArray that has been discovered via the REST API. This section provides information about the Storage Device.

To access the collected information for storage devices, click the Storage Device link available in the Storage System page.

The table below lists the Storage Device Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Description
NameThe name of the storage device.
Type
The type of the storage device.
VendorThe storage device vendor.
ModelThe model name of the storage device.
Serial NumberThe storage device serial number.
OS Class
 The operating system class.
OS Type
The operating system type.
OS Version

The version of the operation system installed on the storage device.

Os Vendor

The operating system vendor.

Managed Storage SystemsThe name of the storage system for this storage pool. This is also a link to the Storage Systems page.
InferenceThe discovery access history for the storage device.

Storage Processors Information

The storage processors associated with a storage device are displayed on the Storage Processors section of the Storage System page. This section provides information about the storage processors managing data transfer for the selected storage system.

To access the collected information for storage processors, click the Storage Processor link available in the Storage System page.

The table below lists the Storage Processors Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Storage Processor InformationDescription
Processor IdentifierThe processor identifier. For example, Controller CT0.

Vendor

The hardware vendor. For example, Pure Storage, Inc.

Model

The model name. For example, FA-405.

Serial

The serial number of the processor.

Firmware

The firmware details.
Storage SystemThe name of the storage device. This is also a link to the Storage System page. Refer to the Storage System Information section for details.
Network Interfaces
List of the network interfaces related to the storage processor.

Network Interface Information

This section provides information about the network interfaces for the selected storage system. To access the collected information for network interfaces, click the network interface link available in the Storage Processor page.

The table below lists the network interfaces Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Interface Name
The name of the network interface.
MAC Address
The unique identifier assigned to the network interface.
Speed (Mbps)
The speed of the network interface. (Available according to the interface type).
IPv4 AddressesList of IPv4 addresses used by the network interface.

Storage Processor

The storage processor related to the network interface.

Interface Type
The type of network interface.

IP Address Information

This section provides information about the IP addresses used by the storage system.

To access the collected information for the IP addresses, click the IP Address Link of the Storage System page.

The table below lists the IP Address Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

IP Address
The IP address of the storage system node.

Type

The type of IP address.

Netmask

Indicates which part of the IP address is reserved for the network and which part is available for host use.

Broadcast Address

The broadcast address within the subnet.

Network Interface

The network interface related to the IP address.

Storage SystemThe storage system related to the IP address. This is also a link to the Storage Systems page.
Subnet
The sub-networks for the IP address.
FQDNs
The fully qualified domain name related to the IP address.

Storage Volumes Information

This section provides information about the storage volumes for the selected storage system.

  1. To access the collected information for storage volumes, click the Storage Volumes link available in the Storage System page.

  2. In the Storage Volumes list, double-click the storage volume you wish to access.

The table below lists the Storage Volumes Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Storage Volume InformationDescription

Volume ID

The ID of the storage volume.

Name

The name of the storage volume.

Type
The type of the storage volume.
NAA IDThe Network Address Authority ID.

Mapped

Indicates whether or not the storage volume is mapped.

Thinly Provisioned

Indicates whether the volume are thinly provisioned or not. For example, if the volumes are not thinly provisioned, it displays No.

Visible CapacityThe visible capacity of the storage volume (in GiB).

Consumable Capacity

The consumable capacity in the storage volume (in GiB).

Block Size

The block size of the storage volume.

Number of Blocks

The number of blocks of the storage volume.

Consumable Blocks

The number of consumable blocks of the storage volume.

Storage System

The name of the storage system for this storage volume. This is also a link to the Storage Systems page. Refer to the Storage Systems Information section for details.
