Opengear Console Servers discovery
Starting from TKU June 2023 discovery of the Opengear Console Servers via Opengear Management Appliance is supported.
Compatibility
All Discovery versions starting from 12.0
Prerequisites
- Valid SNMP credentials for host running Opengear Management Appliance.
Triggers
Pattern | Trigger Node | Attribute | Condition | Argument |
---|---|---|---|---|
Opengear_CS | DiscoveredProcess | cmd | matches | regex "(?i)\bogconfig-srv" |
How it works
The Opengear_CS pattern is triggered by the Discovered Process associated with the Opengear Management Appliance.
Subsequently, it constructs the BMC Discovery SNMP Managed Device nodes for each Console Server that is connected to the Opengear Management Appliance, relying on SNMP-derived information.
The Opengear Management Appliance itself is modeled as a Software Instance with type "Opengear Management Appliance."
Management relationships are established between the Opengear Management Appliance Software Instance and each SNMP Managed Device that represents a Console Server.
Below examples illustrate Opengear Management Appliance Software Instance and Opengear Console Server SNMP Managed Device.
CMDB mapping
- Opengear Management Appliance Software Instance is mapped to BMC_SoftwareServer.
- Opengear Console Server SNMP Managed Device is mapped to BMC_ComputerSystem.
