Dell Compellent Storage Systems
Dell Compellent storage systems are discovered via the Dell Compellent Enterprise Manager SMI-S Server version 1.4. The Dell Compellent SMI-S Provider works with the open source Openpegasus which is included with the Enterprise Manager Data Collector automatically installed with Dell Compellent Enterprise Manager.
As part of routine discovery, when the Dell Compellent Enterprise Manager SMI-S Server is encountered, a Dell Compellent software instance is created. The management software is interrogated to discover any storage entities that it is managing. Once discovered, the storage entities are modeled in BMC Atrium Discovery.
