tw_passwd
The tw_passwd
utility enables you to change the password of a specified user interface user. To use the utility, type the following command at the $TIDEWAY/bin/
directory:
tw_passwd [options] username
where:
- username is the name of the new user to change.
- options are the common, inherited commands described in Using command line utilities.
User example
In the following example, type the commands on a single line. Line breaks are provided to make the example easier to read.
Changing a user's password
$TIDEWAY/bin/tw_passwd joe joeuser
Changing passwords for command line users
The tw_passwd
utility is for changing UI users' passwords. To change the passwords for command line users, as the root user, use the Linux command passwd
. This is described in Changing the root and user passwords
