Troubleshooting TKU upgrade failures and warnings
When you observe failures or warnings during TKU upgrade, use the troubleshooting steps described in this section to either resolve the problem or create a BMC Support case.

Resolution
The numbered solutions listed here correspond to the numbered items in the Issue scope section:
- For unsuccessful upload errors, check that the archive is correct and complete. A corrupt or truncated download may cause this error.
- For pattern activation failures of this type, where there are many dependencies, an incorrect archive target can cause issues. For example, if you attempt to load Technology-Knowledge-Update-2021-06-2-ADDM-11.3+.zip on a version 12.1 appliance, it causes a failure. Apply the correct version for the appliance, which in this example is Technology-Knowledge-Update-2021-06-2-ADDM-12.1+.zip.
- For pattern activation failures of this type, the error can be caused by the customization of a TKU pattern existing before the application of a new TKU. In this example,
Oracle.OracleRDBMS.DatabaseServer
.
For other errors, take a screenshot of the error and the page showing the currently installed TKU modules, and any custom patterns. Then open a case with BMC Support with this information.
