Storage Collection node

A node to represent a collection of Storage.

Storage Collection node lifecycle

The following section describes the scenarios in which a Storage Collection node is created, updated or removed.

Creation/update

Storage Collection nodes are created and updated in exactly the same way as Host nodes.

Removal

A Storage Collection node is removed in one of the following ways:

  • Manually, by selecting the necessary Storage Collection node, and picking Destroy from the Actions list.
  • Explicitly by the pattern that created it. See Removal in the Pattern Language guide.
  • If the evidence for a Storage Collection is not seen on a scan then the node is removed by reasoning. This is an Authoritative Removal type, see Authoritative Removal.
