DDD removal statistics

The following topics are covered in this section:

The page presented shows the DDD statistics for the entire cluster, or for a single standalone appliance. DDD statistics for a single cluster member are not shown as the datastore content is shared over the entire cluster.

Using the DDD removal statistics page

The Directly Discovered Data (DDD) removal statistics page shows the total number of DiscoveryAccesses in the datastore and those eligible for removal. If DiscoveryAccess removal is keeping up with DiscoveryAccess creation, the number of eligible Discovery Access nodes is zero, or near zero, and the continual DDD aging scheme is sufficient. See example 1 in the following diagram.

With the continual DDD aging scheme in operation, if the trend of eligible DiscoveryAccesses is rising over a two-week period, you might have contention between the DDD creation and removal processes. See example 2 in the following diagram. In this scenario, you might find that using DDD removal blackout windows to schedule removal between the gaps in your discovery schedule might give you better overall system performance. After you set up DDD removal blackout windows, continue to monitor the DDD removal statistics page to ensure that removal keeps up with creation. See examples 3 and 4 in the following diagram.

Viewing DDD removal statistics

  1. From the main menu, click the Administration Settings icon.
  2. In the Appliance section, click Performance.
  3. Click the DDD Removal tab.

The DDD removal statistics page shows the total number of DiscoveryAccesses in the datastore, those eligible for removal and those pending for removal.
