CloudRegion node

A CloudRegion represents a geographical region provided by a cloud vendor. A cloud region is created when a new region is discovered in a cloud discovery run. CloudRegion nodes are linked to only one cloud provider.

CloudRegion nodes are under the full control of patterns.

For each region discovered, a CloudRegion node is created.

CloudRegion node lifecycle

The following section describes the scenarios in which a CloudRegion node is created or removed automatically.

Creation

A CloudRegion node is created by cloud patterns when a cloud region is discovered in a cloud discovery run.

Removal

A CloudRegion node is not automatically removed.

To remove a CloudRegion node manually, find the necessary cloud region, select it in the list and pick Destroy from the Actions list.

If you remove a CloudRegion node, then its contained nodes are removed. For more information, see Cascade Removal.

CloudRegion node attributes

The attributes and relationships of a CloudRegion node are described in the table below.

UI Name Attribute Name and Type	Description
Key `key string`	Unique identity string for Cloud Region.
Code `code string`	Provider internal name for the Cloud Region.
Name `name string`	Region name. It is of the form: Provider name (region) : Project Name.
Short Name `short_name string`	Short Name for the Cloud Region. It is of the form: Provider short name (region) : Project Name.
Description `description string`	Description.
Location `location string`	Location of the Cloud Region.
Account ID `account_id string`	Account ID used to discover the cloud region
Account Name `account_name string`	Account Name used to discover the cloud region
Subscription ID `subscription_id string`	Subscription ID
Subscription Name `subscription_name string`	Subscription Name
Project `project string`	Project
Project Name `project_name string`	Project Name
Project ID `project_id string`	Project ID
