Customizing icons

An icon can be displayed for each item and category in the Catalog. You can use custom icons from the following integrated applications:

  • BMC Service Request Management
  • BMC HR Case Management

In addition, you can use icons installed with BMC MyIT or you can upload custom icons in BMC MyIT. If icons are not provided from the integrated applications and you do not specify the icon, then a default icon from BMC MyIT is used.

This topic includes the following sections:

Can you please put some screenshot with example in the section "To upload custom icons in BMC MyIT"?

      Hello Veeral,

      Thank you for your comment.

When you follow the procedure step by step, you see the screens and panels as mentioned in the procedure.

Step 4 is to apply the same icon to a SRD category and all available requests within that category. In this step, "categoryName" Category Properties refers to the panel name shown below the SRD Categories list. Here, categoryName is placeholder text for the actual name of the category you selected. For example, If you select Internet Access SRD category, you will see a panel called "Internet Access" Category Properties just below the SRD Categories list.

Similarly, Step 5 is to change the icon of a specific request within a category. In "itemName" Request Properties, the placeholder text itemName refers to the name of the request you selected.

      Does this help?

      Regards,
      Bhakti
