Options for obtaining a Google Maps license

You can obtain a license from Google directly, or by contacting BMC Support.

Obtain a license directly from GoogleObtain a license through BMC Support

By using this method, you contact Google directly to arrange an API licensing option based on your expected usage.

This method allows you to:

  • Generate your own license key on the Google Developer's Console.
From this console, you can also add more host URLs as needed.
  • Register with Google for a nonproduction license key.
  • Use a cryptographic signing key to generate unique signatures for your web service requests. See Digital signatures in the Google documentation.

To use this method, see Obtaining an API key in the Google documentation.

If you use this method, BMC Support registers your host URL with Google and provides a license key for you to use.

To use this method, you must submit a support request with the following information:

  • The physical location (country) where the BMC MyIT server is located.
  • The host URL where users can access your BMC MyIT client, in the format (example) https://myit-server.bmc.com/ux/.

Note: If you use this method, be sure to allow sufficient lead time for BMC Support to contact Google and register your host URL.

To use this method, see Contacting Customer Support .

BMC MyIT and Smart IT can share the same Google Maps API license. Register the server location (country) and host URL of both applications under the same account. Then enable the license in the appropriate server configuration files.
