The BMC MyIT installer includes a bundled 3.0.6 MongoDB that you can install. However, if you wish to configure MongoDB for high availability or to use the Elasticsearch search and analytics engine, you must install MongoDB without using the BMC MyIT installer.

Elasticsearch1.4.2

Elasticsearch is a flexible and powerful open source, distributed, real-time search and analytics engine. If you do not install Elasticsearch, BMC Remedy with Smart IT uses the built-in search of MongoDB.

Best Practice

Because of security vulnerabilities in the compatible version of Elasticsearch, BMC recommends that you use MongoDB 3.0.x without Elasticsearch. For more information, see Security vulnerabilities when using Elasticsearch with MongoDB.

You may want to add a note regarding Atrium SSO not being compatible with the bundled version of Tomcat and that users will need to start from MyIT 2.2 to setup a functional SSO environment. (Re-iterating what support has told me following a setup of myIT 3.0)

      Hello Tim,

I am working with the concerned SME to validate this information.

However, I would like to add that BMC Atrium Single Sign-On is not supported for BMC Remedy Action Request System 9.0.01 and later versions. BMC encourages customers to move to BMC Remedy Single Sign-On, our new single sign-on solution. For more information, see BMC Remedy Single Sign-On architecture .

      Regards,

      Amit

      Hello Tim,

You can run Atrium SSO with the bundled version of Tomcat. However, when you run the install command, for container-type specify the value as tomcatv7 and not tomcatv8. For more information, see To deploy the BMC Atrium Single Sign-On agent and web.xml

      Regards,

      Amit
