Tomcat Information

Determine whether you want to use an existing version of Tomcat or install Tomcat with BMC MyIT.

Recommendation

BMC highly recommends using HTTPS to communicate to the BMC MyIT server to protect data. This can be done either through a load-balancer or reverse proxy, or enabling HTTPS on the BMC MyIT Tomcat server.

The installer options are:

  • Yes, install Tomcat
To install the bundled Tomcat, you must install BMC MyIT on Windows 2008 R2 or later.
  • No, use existing Tomcat
For Linux servers, you must install MongoDB before installing BMC MyIT and specify that existing installation.

The directory where you want to install Tomcat.

If you do not use the default (C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat7.0), make sure the directory name contains ASCII characters only.

You must then specify the ports to use for BMC MyIT application server (that clients will access) and Administration Console.

How to import Assets via CMDB Import function?

I tried to use the CMDB Import function but didn't get any result from the Asset search.

Anything that needs to be configured to get this working?

    Thanks,

    Mario

Did you create a query in the "Atrium Explorer / Explorer"? I tried and had an error:

      Hi Laurent,

unfortunately I'm not permitted to review your mentioned thread. Maybe you can post its content here..

But however, now I just created a query in Atrium Explorer, restarted Virgo Service but still get no result in the Query drop down menu.

Well did the same thing (I chose "Shared Query") and I saw it in the list in the myit admin console.

  4. Mario Roehr

I also used Shared Query. How did you qualify your query?

  5. John Gallagher

    Hey Mario,

For 2.0, you need to create the query using the same username you specified for the CMDB info. during the installation, otherwise you won't see it. I believe this is changing with SP1.

    John

if we use an external Mongo DB Cluster with replica set, which hostname should be specified as parameter for external Mongo DB Server?Primary Server,Secondary Server,Arbiter Server?Or should we have a virtual host name pointing to primary and secondary server?

    Thank you.

    Hi Sirjad,

What happens if the primary Server goes Down? How MyIT can connect to the Secondary Server which is elected by Arbiter Server as Primary during the failover?

Should System Administrator change manually any file in MyIT?

Reading on online documentation about Mongo DB, client applications using Monfo DB cluster should accept a list of Mongo DB Server in the form [host: port].Am I wrong?

I'm wondering if MyIT supports Multi-Tenancy Mode of BMC Remedy ITSM. We installed MyIT and set SRM provider to Enabled. In SRM we can see only the SRDs of particular users tenant. If logged on with the same user in MyIT we can see all SRDs of all tenants! Thus I looked for more information about Multi-Tenancy in the MyIT documentation and have found almost nothing. Does MyIT support Multi-Tenancy? If yes does it use the Multi-Tenancy Mode of BMC Remedy ITSM automatically or do we have to configure something somewhere?

    Hi Rudolf,

MyIT Supports multi tenancy. There is a hotfix to fix this issue, please create a ticket with BMC support and they will provide you the hotfix on MyIT 2.0 SP1
