MyIT Server and Cluster Selection

Choose whether to install in a new cluster or an existing cluster.

If you choose to install in a new cluster, the installer imports the BMC MyIT schema and data into the BMC MyIT database (using BMC Remedy AR System server), and also installs files and services on the local computer.

If you choose to install in an existing cluster, the installer does not import the BMC MyIT schema or data into the BMC MyIT database (using AR System server). It only installs files and services on the local computer.

BMC MyIT AR Server Information

This BMC Remedy AR System server represents the system on which you install the BMC MyIT server.  

Required information:

  • Application service password
  • Host name or IP address
  • Port

BMC Remedy ITSM connection information for BMC MyIT datastore

The credentials required to connect to the BMC Remedy ITSM database.  This information is required to allow BMC MyIT to connect to the datastore and synchronize data.

Required information:

  • Application service password
  • Host name or IP address
  • Port

If BMC Remedy ITSM is installed on the same AR System server where you will install the BMC MyIT server, you will enter the same credentials as you entered for BMC MyIT AR Server Information.

Tomcat (MyIT App Server) information

If you have an installed instance of Apache Tomcat, the installer will detect an existing port number.

If you do not have an installed instance of Tomcat, you are prompted to enter Tomcat installation details:

  • Installation directory
  • Port number for the Tomcat instance (The default is 9000.)

Virgo (MyIT Admin Console) port number

You can enter the port number for a new Virgo instance. (The default is 9090.) This represents the port for the BMC MyIT Administration Console.

BMC MyIT JRE information

Your installed JRE directory (64-bit jre6 folder). You should have JRE installed before proceeding with the BMC MyIT installation.
