Integrating

BMC MyIT Service Broker integrates with external fulfillment systems through interfaces exposed through custom-developed service connectors, which pass information from the service request to the external system. Developers are invited to join our BMC Developer Ecosystem to build new connectors to integrate with other enterprise systems.

Service connector integration

Service connectors offer the following types of integration activities:

  • Resource mapping: Provides system-level integration services that may or may not require user interaction.
  • Catalog import: Provides catalog items that can be imported into BMC MyIT Service Broker.
  • Process workflow: Provides actions and activities for use in designing fulfillment workflows in Workflow Designer.

Some service connectors are installed with BMC MyIT Service Broker.

Service connector installation and configuration

Service connectors are installed and deployed into a BMC MyIT Service Broker instance by BMC OnDemand. Once deployed, the Service Catalog Administrator must add the required configuration options to complete the integration.

Service connectors include documentation for configuring service connectors in BMC MyIT Service Broker. The configuration options required by a service connector depend on the requirements of the external system, and are specific to each customer and tenant.

Service connector development is outside the scope of this documentation.
