Enabling users to delegate approvals

As a BMC Helix Digital Workplace administrator, you can enable the delegation feature so that approvers can assign their approval requests to alternate approvers. By using this feature, end users can decrease the number of unresolved requests if they cannot process them on time (for example, due to an absence).

Starting with the 21.3.02 patch, BMC announces changes related to the availability of BMC Service Request Management that might affect your use of BMC Helix Digital Workplace.

Types of approvals that can be delegated

Delegation is supported for the following types of approvals:

  • Requests from BMC Service Request Management 
  • Requests from BMC HR Case Management

  • Requests from BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog

Before you begin

Enable one or more of the available approval types in BMC Helix Digital Workplace. For information about how to do this, see Enabling approvals.

To enable users to delegate approvals to alternate approvers

From the BMC Helix Digital Workplace Admin console, perform the following steps:

  1. Select Configuration > Approval, and then select the Alternate approvals check box.


  2. Select Configuration > Application Features, and then select SRM pluggable provider.
