Performing the BMC Digital Workplace installation
This topic provides an overview of how to perform the BMC Digital Workplace installation.
Before you begin
Complete the steps in Preparing-for-installation-of-BMC-Digital-Workplace.
Before you proceed with the installation, remember these tips:
- To protect data, use HTTPS to communicate with the Digital Workplace server. You can do so through a load balancer or reverse proxy, or by enabling HTTPS on the BMC Digital Workplace server.
- If using an Oracle database for your installation, verify that USERS and TEMP tablespaces exist. If they do not, create them. The installer creates the user schemas that reference these two tablespaces by default.
Note that BMC Digital Workplace patches are cumulative. You always install the latest available patch.
To perform the installation
To troubleshoot the installation
The BMC Digital Workplace installer and server produce several logs that you can use for troubleshooting. For more information, see Contents-of-the-logs and Troubleshooting-installation-and-upgrade-issues-in-BMC-Digital-Workplace.
