Quick start for super administrators

This topic is intended for IT managers and administrators who are responsible for rolling out BMC Digital Workplace to their organization. This topic can help you get started, whether you are currently using BMC Service Request Management or are new to self-service.

As a super administrator in BMC Digital Workplace, you have all capabilities of a regular administrator and some super administrative options.

External user portal

An external user portal is used by end users who are not internal to your organization (referred to as external users) and is primarily managed by an administrator of an external portal (referred to as an external administrator).

An external user portal functions as a subtenant of your regular BMC Digital Workplace application. By using this option, you can manage internal and external business processes separately, and configure and customize regular and external BMC Digital Workplace tenants separately.

Subtenants

A subtenant in BMC Digital Workplace represents a company-level configuration. Subtenants are isolated from each other and only administrators of the subtenant or super administrators can set up configuration for a subtenant.

The following diagram illustrates company-level access to subtenants in BMC Digital Workplace.
