Service connector capabilities
Service connectors connect your catalog to external systems. BMC Digital Workplace Catalog includes connectors. If you use BMC Helix Integration Service, a service catalog administrator can use BMC Helix Integration Service connectors in a process workflow. Developers can extend custom connectors with additional abilities, as described in Integrating BMC Digital Workplace Catalog with BMC Helix Integration Service. BMC Helix Integration Service is a standalone product. You need to purchase a license to use it.
Before you can use a connector, you must create the connection and add configuration details, as described in Configuring service connectors.
The following table lists the abilities of service connectors provided by BMC Digital Workplace Catalog. Some of these connectors provide the ability to import services or other items into the service catalog, as indicated in the "Catalog import" column.
Most connectors can be used in the process workflow for service fulfillment, as indicated in the "Process workflow" column.
Some connectors provide the ability to map data resources to responses in the service questionnaire, as indicated in the "Resource mapping" column.
A blank cell indicates that the connector does not include the capability.
For additional details about a connector, follow the link in the "Connector name" column.
Connector name | Catalog import | Process workflow | Resource mapping | Description |

AWS Service Catalog connector | The AWS Service Catalog connector is connected to BMC Digital Workplace Catalog via integration with BMC Integration Service. The AWS Service Catalog connector enables catalog administrators and internal service suppliers to import services from AWS Service Catalog available in the Amazon Cloud, and provision these services to end users via the BMC Digital Workplace interface. This connector also provides a default service action that enables end users to terminate services that they have requested.
Azure connector | The Azure connector provides the ability to:

Citrix Xen App connector | The Citrix Xen App connector provides the ability to import virtual apps from the Citrix Xen App server as services to BMC Digital Workplace Catalog. Each virtual application in Xen App is represented in Active Directory as a user group.
Citrix Xen Desktop connector | The Citrix Xen Desktop connector provides the ability to import virtual desktop from the Citrix Xen Desktop server as services to BMC Digital Workplace Catalog. Each virtual desktop in Xen App is represented in Active Directory as a user group.
Citrix XenMobile connector | The Citrix XenMobile connector provides the ability to provision a list of mobile applications available on the Citrix XenMobile server, such as enrolling a mobile device, and locking, unlocking, wiping, and locating an enrolled device. The provisioning process is based on adding the requester's user account to an Active Directory group associated with the service. The connector also provides the ability to import services that are configured on the Citrix server.
Client Management connectors | The BMC Client Management connectors provide the ability to:

CMDB connector | The CMDB connector provides the ability to map an imported BMC Service Request Management service to a requestable offering in Atrium Configuration Management Database (CMDB) through the Service Options page. An application-specific data set must be configured and enabled. When configuring the CMDB connector, you must specify the data set name or data set ID for your services to be published. For more information, see
Best practices for managing datasets
Use of this connector requires a valid Atrium Core license (not provided by BMC Digital Workplace Advanced, but included with BMC Remedy ITSM). Atrium CMDB is also integrated at the application level to provide real-time creation of and mapping between services and requestable offerings.
Flexera connector | The Flexera connector provides the ability to query the Flexera database, request a license from the available licenses pool, and enable the provisioning of imported services through the Flexera App Portal. The connector also provides the ability to link Flexera data sets to parameters used by the process workflow. The connectors enable the importing of catalog items from the Flexera application manager. This connector requires an account with Flexera (not provided) and an App Broker license. Note: Before deploying BMC Digital Workplace Catalog with the Flexera connector, turn off Negotiate authentication (only leave NTLM authentication) in IIS on the Flexera server.
HRCM connector | The HRCM connector provides the ability to create cases in BMC HR Case Management 4.7 and later.
BMC Helix Platform connector | The BMC Helix Platform connector allows you to connect to the Business Workflows application in BMC Helix Platform.

Remedy connector | The Remedy connector supplies elements to the process designer palette that you can embed into fulfillment workflows. The elements enable you to perform create and update actions through any Remedy form that you select. You can also perform specific actions to create work orders and service requests, incident requests, and change requests. The Remedy connector supports only applications built using Remedy 8.1 SP2 or later. This connector provides the ability to import Service Request Definitions (SRDs) as services in BMC Digital Workplace Catalog, and the ability to import service categories from Remedy Service Request Management as categories in BMC Digital Workplace Catalog.
REST connector | The REST connector enables HTTP requests to RESTful web services. Specific operations depend on the operations provided by the RESTful web service. |
