Creating virtual marketplace entitlements
As a service catalog administrator, internal service supplier, internal service supplier administrator, or asset manager, you create virtual marketplaces to associate services, bundles, and banners that appear in a BMC Digital Workplace user's catalog with users who can access them.
Before you begin
- You must have the BMC Digital Workplace Catalog user database synchronized with the BMC Digital Workplace user database.
For information about how to synchronize users, see Copying users from Remedy ITSM into BMC Digital Workplace Catalog. - You must have a Remedy connector configured.
For information about how to configure a Remedy connector, see Remedy connector.
- If you have multiple Remedy connectors configured, you must select a default connector for entitlements and approvals in the Application Settings > Default Connections.

To create a virtual marketplace
- From the main menu, click Entitlements.
Click New Virtual Marketplace.
Enter a Virtual Marketplace Name, and click Create.
To rename or remove an existing virtual marketplace, select a virtual marketplace, and click
to open a menu with those options.Tip
To search virtual marketplaces by name, press Ctrl+F and use the browser search functionality.
To add services, bundles, and banners to virtual marketplaces
Add and remove services, bundles, and banners in the Services & Banners section of the Edit Virtual Marketplace panel.
To add services and bundles to the virtual marketplace, perform the following steps:
Click Add beside Catalog, and search for or filter services and bundles that you want to add.
Select one or more services and bundles, and click Add.
To add banners to the virtual marketplace, perform the following steps:
Click Add beside Banners.
Select one or more banners, and click Add.
To add users to virtual marketplaces
In a virtual marketplace, you can add BMC Digital Workplace users available in the BMC Digital Workplace Catalog user database.
You add and remove users to virtual marketplaces in the People section of the Edit Virtual Marketplace panel:
You can add users to virtual marketplaces in any of the following ways:
To add users
Beside Users, click Add.
Search for or filter users that you want to add.
Note
Only users with Enabled profile status are available for search.
Select one or more users, and click Add.
To add BMC Digital Workplace Catalog user groups
BMC Digital Workplace Catalog groups are created during a post-installation task, when administrators synchronize BMC Remedy IT Service Management users with BMC Digital Workplace Catalog. The synchronization process creates three different groups, based on the following information from the BMC Remedy IT Service Management CTM:People table:
- Company
- Company - Organization
- Company - Organization - Department
When you add a user group to a virtual marketplace, the users within that group are entitled to the items attached to the virtual marketplace.
Perform the following steps to add user groups to a virtual marketplace:
- Beside Attributes, click Add.
- Click the Custom Groups tab.
- Search for a group that you want to add.
- Select the group, and click Save.
To add users from dynamic filters by ITSM attributes
You can add users to a virtual marketplace by filtering them by the following CTM:People form fields:

Filter names in BMC Digital Workplace Catalog correspond to fields in BMC Remedy ITSM CTM:People form. Filter lists display values dynamically generated from existing user profiles in BMC Remedy IT Service Management.
Perform the following steps to add users from dynamic filters:
- Beside the Attributes, click Add.
To filter users by core fields, perform the following steps:
Click the ITSM Core tab, and expand the available categories as needed.
Select the attributes that you want to assign, and click Save.
The following illustration shows the ITSM core attributes that you can assign:

ITSM Core attributes with no values are displayed as labels in the attributes tree.
To filter users by other fields, perform the following steps:
- Click the Other Fields tab, and expand the available categories as needed.
Select the attributes that you want to assign, and click Save.

To add all users to virtual marketplaces
You can add all users to a virtual marketplace by enabling the Everyone toggle in Edit Virtual Marketplace panel.
All users will have access to the services, banners, and bundles in this virtual marketplace.
To assign administrators for virtual marketplaces
Add administrative permissions for virtual marketplaces in the Administrators section of the Edit Virtual Marketplace panel as follows:
Under Administrators, click Add to find administrators to add.
The User Directory contains the list of users with the appropriate permissions to manage virtual marketplaces.
Tip
To remove virtual marketplace administrators, click
beside a user to remove, and confirm to removal.Search for or filter users that you want to add.
- Select one or more users, and then click Add.
