Wsendlog.exe program

In addition to the Sendlog utility program, the BMC Defender Agent for Windows provides an alternate Windows-based utility named Wsendlog.exe that employs a user-friendly Windows dialogue to send messages.

The Wsendlog.exe utility operates in a fashion identical to the Sendlog.exe program. It allows you to specify a destination IP address, facility, and severity, along with a command-line to enter the message to send. The utility might be useful for testing correlation rules or other features of the BMC Defender system.

The Wsendlog.exe program does not make use of encryption, hence works with any syslog receiver (in addition to BMC Defender). The program is completely stand-alone and does not require any DLL programs or support software. It can be copied to any Windows platform and used by itself.
