Restarting the Tomcat service

You might need to restart the Tomcat service in case you are not able to access the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation Console. This topic provides instructions for restarting the Tomcat service for reports. Use the procedure for your OS type.

To restart the Tomcat service on UNIX-like computers

  1. Navigate to the BDSSAInstallationDirectory/tomcat/bin directory.
  2. Type the following commands:

    ./daemon.sh --java-home $BDS_HOME/jre --tomcat-user root stop
    ./daemon.sh --java-home $BDS_HOME/jre --tomcat-user root start

To restart the Tomcat service on Microsoft Windows computers

  1. From a command prompt, type the following command:

    services.msc
  2. In the Services window, select BMC Decision Support for Server Automation Tomcat Web Server and then click Restart.
