Built-in Product Usage report
Product Usage report shows how many Cognos Licenses have been used by BMC Server Automation users (that consist of Reports.Viewer, Reports.QueryStudio, and Reports.Studio). This report data can be viewed by BMC Server Automation users that have following roles assigned to them:
- GlobalReportAdmins
- GlobalReportViewers
In case of multi-site deployment, consolidated data is displayed in the reports.
Note
Any user having Global Report Admin role may be consuming Cognos Report Studio License. Please contact your concerned department to verify if Report Studio license has been purchased.
The built-in Product Usage report contains the following information:
- BDSSA version
- Distinct user license counts per reporting capability (Reports.Viewer, Reports.QueryStudio, and Reports.Studio)
- Distinct licensed user names per reporting capability (Reports.Viewer, Reports.QueryStudio, and Reports.Studio)
- Consolidated user details per reporting capability (Reports.Viewer, Reports.QueryStudio, and Reports.Studio)
To execute the Product Usage report
Use this procedure if you want to run the Product Usage report.
- Log on to the BMC BladeLogic Decision Support for Server Automation portal as a user with privileges to run reports.
- In Public Folders, navigate to the Dashboard folder.
That folder contains a report named Product Usage Report. - On the row for the Product Usage report, under the Actions column, click the Run icon
.
A windows providing options opens. - Choose the following options:
- Language – A language is selected by default.
- Delivery – Select View the report now.
- Prompt Values – The checkbox is selected by default.
- Click Run.
