Data model

This topic provides an overview of the BMC BladeLogic data model used in the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation reporting.

The BMC BladeLogic data model is a data abstraction layer used in BMC Decision Support for Server Automation. This data model exposes a business intelligence view of BMC Server Automation information that is captured in the reports data warehouse.

The model is an object-tree representation of all of the results and objects that are maintained in BMC Server Automation, such as jobs and job results, servers, templates, roles, and users. Data from all job results and core objects such as jobs, servers, and templates are organized as domains.

The model maintains information about relationships between data and security. The gathered data is transferred from the BMC Server Automation On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) database to the reports warehouse using the extract, transform, and load (ETL) process.
