Setting up the SQL Server database

Before installing BMC Decision Support for Server Automation, you must set up the required databases. This section provides information about setting up a Microsoft SQL Server database for use with the product.

Note

These database setup instructions are intended for use by database administrators.

Recommendation

BMC recommends that the reports database uses a separate database instance than the BMC Server Automation database.

If you want to use BMC Decision Support for Server Automation in the non-English locales, see To configure BMC Server Automation databases for a non-English locale in the BMC Server Automation documentation.
