Changing the password for the ReportsSystem user ID

The ReportsSystem user ID is created by BMC for internal administration tasks in BMC Decision Support for Server Automation. You can change the password for this user ID by using the change_system_password.nsh script.

To change the password for the ReportsSystem user ID

  1. From the command line, navigate to the BDS_HOME\shared\ConfigurationManagement directory.
  2. Start the Network Shell.
  3. Type the following command: change_system_password.nsh.
  4. Enter the current password.

    Note

    If you are changing the password for the first time, or you have forgotten the password, submit a request to BMC Customer Support to obtain the password.

  5. Press Enter.
  6. Enter the new password and press Enter.
  7. Confirm the new password and press Enter.
    Password is changed for the ReportsSystem user ID.
