Architecture

This topic provides an overview of the BMC Decision Support for Server Automation architecture.

BMC Decision Support for Server Automation is a web-based application that uses the IBM Cognos 10 Business Intelligence version 10.2, which resides on one server in the installation. Another server in the installation includes a central reports data warehouse Open link .

The BMC Decision Support for Server Automation environment must contain at least one site (a site is a BMC Server Automation database). The extract, transform, and load (ETL) tool transfers and transforms data from the BMC Server Automation databases and populates the reports data warehouse. The reporting web application reads data from the reports data warehouse.

An Apache Web Server delivers reporting information to web browsers. BMC Decision Support for Server Automation accesses the BMC Server Automation Authentication Server to authenticate users. The BMC Server Automation Authentication Server is installed on the same server where your reports server is installed.
