Determining number of users

This topic describes how to determine the number of users in each group that are using BMC Decision Support – Network Automation.

Important

These instructions are applicable for 8.9.02.004, 8.9.02.005, and 8.9.01 and earlier versions. Because there are no groups present in versions 8.9.02, 8.9.02.001, 8.9.02.002, and 8.9.02.003 of BMC Decision Support – Network Automation, it's not possible to determine the number of users that are using BMC Decision Support – Network Automation.

To determine the number of users in BMC Decision Support – Network Automation

  1. Access the SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform - Query Builder using the following URL: 
    http://<BusinesObjectsServerHostName>:<portNumber>/AdminTools. For example, http://clm-pun-033746:8080/AdminTools/

  2. Log on to Query Builder. The Query Builder window appears.

  3. Enter the following query to get the number of users and their names in the BDS-NA Administrators group in the query window:

    Query for number of users in the Administrators group
    SELECT SI_ID, SI_NAME FROM CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS WHERE DESCENDANTS("SI_NAME='USERGROUP-USER'", "SI_NAME='BDS-NA Administrators'") AND SI_KIND='USER'
  4. Click Submit Query to get the number of users and their names in the BDS-NA Administrators group.
    The output of the above query looks like the following:


  5. Enter the following query to get the number of users and their names in the BDS-NA Authors group in the query window:

    Query for number of users in the Authors group
    SELECT SI_ID, SI_NAME FROM CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS WHERE DESCENDANTS("SI_NAME='USERGROUP-USER'", "SI_NAME='BDS-NA Authors'") AND SI_KIND='USER' 
  6. Enter the following query to get the number of users and their names in the  BDS-NA Designers group in the query window:

    Query for number of users in the Designers group
    SELECT SI_ID, SI_NAME FROM CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS WHERE DESCENDANTS("SI_NAME='USERGROUP-USER'", "SI_NAME='BDS-NA Designers'") AND SI_KIND='USER'
  7.  Enter the following query to get the number of users and their names in the  BDS-NA Viewers group in the query window:

    Query for number of users in the Viewers group
    SELECT SI_ID, SI_NAME FROM CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS WHERE DESCENDANTS("SI_NAME='USERGROUP-USER'", "SI_NAME='BDS-NA Viewers'") AND SI_KIND='USER'
