8.9.02.005: Patch 5 for Service Pack 2

This topic contains information about updates in this patch, and provides instructions for downloading and installing the patch.

 

Third-party software support updates

Version 8.9.02.005 of BMC Decision Support – Network Automation is bundled with the following third-party software:

  • AdoptOpenJDK 11.0.4
  • Apache Tomcat web server 9.0.22

Supported version of BusinessObjects BI Platform

BMC Decision Support – Network Automation supports version 4.2 Service Pack 5 Patch 5 of SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform.

Supported versions of TrueSight Network Automation

Version 8.9.02.005 of BMC Decision Support – Network Automation supports the following versions of TrueSight Network Automation (formerly known as BMC Network Automation):

  • 8.9.02 
  • 8.9.03 
  • 8.9.04, 8.9.04.001, 8.9.04.002

Downloading and installing the patch

Upgrading to the patch 

Follow the steps in one of the following sections depending upon which version you are upgrading from.

Upgrading to the patch from versions earlier than 8.9.02

  1. Log on to the host computer on which you plan to upgrade BMC Decision Support – Network Automation as an Administrator.
  2. Ensure that you have performed the tasks mentioned in Preparing for upgrade.
  3. Uninstall the existing version of BMC Decision Support – Network Automation.
  4. Clean up the BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (BI) server for the BMC Decision Support – Network Automation reporting contents.
  5. Ensure that you have downloaded and extracted the required installation files.
  6. Navigate to the directory containing the setup.exe file.
  7. Double-click the file to start the installation wizard.
  8. Follow the instructions in the installation screens and refer to the Installation worksheet for versions 8.9.02 and later for details about the required installation parameters. The installation worksheet includes instructions for upgrading the product.
  9. Run the Content Deployment utility.

Upgrading to the patch from versions 8.9.02 or later

  1. Log on to the Central Management Console as described in Accessing the Central Management Console.
  2. Click Users and Groups.
    The console displays the product groups in the Group Hierarchy.
  3. Click the Administrators group to display the users in the group.
  4. Delete the users (including the sysadmin user) that you had created to implement access control in BMC Decision Support – Network Automation.

    Important

    (Applicable only for version 8.9.02.004) After the upgrade to version 8.9.02.004 is complete, and the Content Deployment utility is executed successfully, the bds_urgmapper_tsk is created on the BusinessObjects BI Platform. When this task runs, the user information is transferred again to the BusinessObjects BI Platform from the BMC Decision Support – Network Automation data warehouse.

  5. Log on to the host computer on which you plan to upgrade BMC Decision Support – Network Automation as an Administrator.
  6. Ensure that you have performed the tasks mentioned in Preparing for upgrade.
  7. Ensure that you have downloaded and extracted the required installation files.
  8. Navigate to the directory containing the setup.exe file.
  9. Double-click the file to start the installation wizard.
  10. Follow the instructions in the installation screens and refer to the Installation worksheet for versions 8.9.02 and later for details about the required installation parameters. The installation worksheet includes instructions for upgrading the product.
  11. (This step is not required if you are upgrading to 8.9.02.005 from 8.9.02.004) Run the Content Deployment utility.
