System requirements
BMC Decision Support – Database Automation is an optional, add-on product that is integrated with the BMC Database Automation solution. You must purchase a separate license to install this product.
This topic describes the requirements for installing BMC Decision Support – Database Automation.

SAP BusinessObjects BI server (reporting server)
You must have SAP BusinessObjects BI platform 4.0 Service Pack 2 with Patch 8 installed before installing BMC Decision Support – Database Automation. The computer on which BI platform 4.0 is installed must meet the following requirements:
- Operating system: Microsoft Windows Server 2008, R2, 64-bit
- RAM: 16 GB recommended
- Available disk space: 100 GB minimum
- CPUs: 4 CPUs with 3 GHz speed

The computer that hosts the BMC Decision Support – Database Automation software must meet the following requirements:
- Operating system: Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R1 (64-bit), R2 (64-bit), Windows Server 2008 R1 (64-bit), R2 (64-bit)
- RAM: 4 GB minimum, 8 GB recommended
- Available disk space: 60 GB minimum
- CPUs: 2 CPUs with 3 GHz speed
BMC Decision Support – Database Automation data warehouse database server
The computer that is configured to be the data warehouse database server must meet the following requirements:
- OS: Dependent on the database type and the OS support for that database
- RAM: 8 GB minimum, 16 GB recommended
- Available disk space: 100 GB minimum
- CPUs: 4 CPUs with 3 GHz speed
Supported databases
The following databases are supported for use with this product:
- Oracle database server 12c
- Oracle database server 11g RAC, Release 1 and Release 2
- Oracle database server 11g, Release 1 and Release 2
- Oracle database server 10g, Release 2 or later, with the latest patch
Oracle RAC requirements
If you are using Oracle RAC, the Oracle Client 11g Release 1 or Release 2 must be installed as follows:
- The 32-bit Oracle client must be installed on the computer on which the BusinessObjects BI client is installed.
- The 64-bit Oracle client must must be installed on the computer on which the BusinessObjects BI server is installed.
- If the BusinessObjects BI client and server are installed on the same computer, you must have both the 32-bit and 64-bit Oracle clients installed on that computer.
Supported browsers
BMC Decision Support – Database Automation works with all browsers that are supported by BusinessObjects BI platform. For browsers that are supported by BusinessObjects BI, see the attached
.Port requirements
By default, BMC Decision Support – Database Application uses port 6400 to communicate with the SAP BusinessObjects BI server (reporting server). Change this port number if your BusinessObjects BI server listens on a different port. In addition to 6400, you need to configure other ports as well. BMC Database Automation requirements
You must have BMC Database Automation version 8.7.00 installed before installing BMC Decision Support – Database Automation.
