DBD Summary report

The DBD Summary report provides general information about the database and the DBD that defines it.

The DBD Summary report contains the following fields.

DBD NAME

The name of the database, from the NAME parameter on the DBD statement.

xxxLIB DATA SET NAME

The data set name of the library in which the DBD resides. xxx can be ACB or DBD.

xxxGEN DATE, TIME AND RELEASE

The date and time the input DBD was generated, in the format mm/dd/yyhh.mm, where

mm

Month of the year (1-12)

dd

Day of the month (1-31)

yy

Last two digits of the year

hh

Hour (00-23)

mm

Minute (00-59)

xxx can be ACB or DBD

The date and time are followed by the version, release, and maintenance level of the IMS system under which the DBD was generated. xxx can be ACB or DBD.

ORGANIZATION

The DL/I organization (HDAM, HIDAM, HISAM, and so on) defined for the database, from the first value of the ACCESS parameter on the DBD statement.

ACCESS METHOD

The operating system access method defined for the database. The following values are possible:

  • ESDS
  • KSDS
  • SAM
  • BSAM
  • OSAM
  • ISAM

NUMBER OF DS GROUPS

The total number of data set groups defined for the database.

NUMBER OF SEGMENTS

The total number of segments defined in the database.

DBD DATA CAPTURE

The following EXIT NAME, SEGMENT OPTION, and CASCADE OPTION information is provided for databases that have the EXIT parameter coded on the DBD statement:

EXIT NAME

The value of the exitname operand of the EXIT parameter.

SEGMENT OPTION

The value of the segment operands of the EXIT parameter.

CASCADE OPTION

The value of the cascade operands of the EXIT parameter.

LOGGING OPTION

The value of the LOG and NOLOG operands of the EXIT parameter.

VERSION

The value of the VERSION parameter on the DBD statement. If this parameter was omitted on the DBD statement, (IMS GENERATED) appears next to VERSION to indicate that the version ID was generated by IMS.

PRIMARY INDEX DBD

The name of the primary index DBD, if the DBD describes the data portion of a HIDAM database.

HDAM RANDOMIZER

The values of the RMNAME parameter on the DBD statement.

SECONDARY INDEX

Whether secondary indexes are defined for the database.

LOGICAL RELATIONSHIP

Whether logical relationships are defined for the database.

INDEXED DBD

The target DBD if the input DBD is a primary or secondary index.

NUMBER OF AREAS

The total number of areas defined for the database.

DEDB RANDOMIZER

The values of the RMNAME parameter on the DBD statement.

DATA CAPTURE

The following fields are present if the DEDB has an exit defined and the input control block is a DBD. If the input is an ACB, this information is located in the PSB-type ACB referencing this DBD.

EXIT NAME

The value of the exit name operand of the EXIT parameter on the DBD statement.

SEGMENT OPTION

The value of the segment operands of the EXIT parameter on the DBD statement.

CASCADE OPTION

The value of the cascade operands of the EXIT parameter on the DBD statement.

LOGGING OPTION

The value of the LOG and NOLOG operands of the EXIT parameter on the DBD statement in the DEDB referenced by this PCB.

VERSION

The value of the VERSION parameter on the DBD statement. If this parameter was omitted on the DBD statement, (IMS GENERATED) appears next to VERSION to indicate that the version ID was generated by IMS.
