Specifying the RECON data set

When auditing the DBD library, Database Integrity can access the DBRC recovery control (RECON) data set.

If you provide the RECON data set,

Database Integrity

tells you whether the database is registered with DBRC, and if it is, the DBRC share level, database type, ddname, and physical data set name registered with DBRC. You can specify the data set name of the RECON data set with one of the following methods:

  • Code the RECON DD statement in the JCL.
  • Code the RECON keyword on the GLBL control statement.
  • Code the RECON keyword on the DBDAUDIT control statement.

If you do not specify the name of the RECON data set in the JCL or on the GLBL or DBDAUDIT control statement, Database Integrity bypasses the generation of the RECON field on the DBD Audit report.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
