PDX/PDS Copy Utility panel


The PDX/PDS Copy Utility panel (the following figure) displays if you select option 2 on the PDX/PDS Utilities panel to copy one PDX or PDS to another PDX or PDS.

You should use the Copy utility periodically to back up your production PDX.

Command

The END command cancels the copy.

Input Data Set

The name of the data set you want to copy.

Output Data Set

The name of the data set to contain the copy.

Member Options

This option allows you to copy members of the data set.

Copy All Members

Type Y if you want to copy all members of the data set. Type N if you do not want to copy all members of the data set.

Copy Single (PDS only) Member

These options let you copy just a single PDS member of the data set.

Input Member

The name of the member you want to copy.

Output Name

The member name of the copy, if it is different from the original name. This utility does not copy to data sets with an undefined record length (RECFM=U).

Copy Options

These options allow you to set options for the copy procedure.

Replace Members

Type Y to replace existing members in the output data set. Type N to keep the existing copy.

Copy User Data

Type Y to copy any user data contained in the member keys. Type N to not copy any user data contained in the member keys.

Copy Exit Routine

Type the name of the exit routine to invoke, if any, before the blocks are written.

Exit Routine Lib

If using a copy exit routine, type the name of the library that contains it.

Fill Char (Hex)

Type the hexadecimal value the utility uses to pad any new member names that are not as long as the member key length.

LRECL Stack Count

Type the number of input logical records (1 to 9999) to copy to one output logical record.
