Operating the ADV server

The ADV server provides the technology for communication among clients (TSO user address space and various console-enabled functions and features).

If a CPCxCMDS data set member contains the default CPC START ADV command, the ADV server automatically starts when you start the BCSS/CPC subsystem. For more information about the BCSS/CPC subsystem, see Operating-the-BCSS-CPC-subsystem. If the BCSS/CPC subsystem does not automatically start the ADV server, you must correct the error and manually start the ADV server.

Although you can have multiple server address spaces on one operating system image, BMC recommends that you have as few address spaces as possible to avoid connectivity issues.
