Control-M for AWS DynamoDB
AWS DynamoDB is a NoSQL database service that enables you to create database tables, execute statements and transactions, export and import data to and from the Amazon S3 storage service.
Control-M for AWS DynamoDB enables you to do the following:
- Database Operations: Run DynamoDB statements for queries and updates.
- Transactional Workflows: Execute DynamoDB transactions with Control-M workflows.
- Data Archiving: Export DynamoDB tables to S3 for on-demand backup and archiving.
- Bulk Data Movement: Use bulk export/import for seamless movement of large datasets.
- Manage AWS DynamoDB credentials in a secure connection profile.
- Connect to any AWS DynamoDB endpoint.
- Integrate AWS DynamoDB jobs with other Control-M jobs into a single scheduling environment.
- Introduce all Control-M capabilities to Control-M for AWS DynamoDB, including advanced scheduling criteria, complex dependencies, Resource Pools, Lock Resources, and variables.
- Monitor the job status, results, and output of AWS DynamoDB jobs.
- Attach an SLA job to the AWS DynamoDB jobs.

Control-M for AWS DynamoDB is supported on Control-M Web and Control-M Automation API, but not on the Control-M client.

Setting up Control-M for AWS DynamoDB
This procedure describes how to deploy the AWS DynamoDB plug-in, create a connection profile, and define an AWS DynamoDB job in Control-M Web and Automation API.
Before You Begin
Verify that Automation API is installed, as described in Automation API Installation.
Begin
- Create a temporary directory to save the downloaded files.
- Download the AWS DynamoDB plug-in from the Control-M for AWS DynamoDB download page in the EPD site.
- Install the AWS DynamoDB plug-in using the Automation API Provision service:
- Log in to the Control-M/EM Server machine as an Administrator and store the downloaded zip file in the one of the following locations (within several minutes, the job type appears in Control-M Web):
- Linux: $HOME/ctm_em/AUTO_DEPLOY
- Windows: <EM_HOME>\AUTO_DEPLOY
- Log in to the Control-M/Agent machine and run the provision image command, as follows:
- Linux: ctm provision image AWS_DynamoDB_plugin.Linux
- Windows: ctm provision image AWS_DynamoDB_plugin.Windows
- Log in to the Control-M/EM Server machine as an Administrator and store the downloaded zip file in the one of the following locations (within several minutes, the job type appears in Control-M Web):
- Create an AWS DynamoDB connection profile in Control-M Web or Automation API, as follows:
