Control-M/EM PANFT.9.0.21.204


BMC Software is releasing patch PANFT.9.0.21.204 to correct several problems in Control-M/EM 9.0.21.200 for UNIX and Windows.

Note

You must have Control-M/EM 9.0.21.200 with the patch PANFT.9.0.21.201 installed before you install this patch. 

You must install this patch on every environment where a Control-M/Enterprise Manager Server is installed.

CTM-9546

The tree navigation pane default state is expanded when you open a Viewpoint in the Monitoring domain. 

CTM-9661

Actions on jobs selected using the tree structure in a Viewpoint also occur on jobs below in the tree hierarchy that were not selected if the tree was collapsed and expanded.

CTM-9685

Jobs disappear from the Neighborhood or Enhanced Why Viewpoint a few seconds after you open these Viewpoints from a regular Viewpoint.

CTM-8458

The following error message appears when you run a service that contains a folder hierarchy (e.g. Folder1/Folder2/Job1) in the Folder Name field. 
Failed to communicate with the server. Server error code: 500

CTM-9555

A Control-M Client upgrade to 9.0.21.200 with Client Deploy fails if you log in as a non-admin user, and the following error message appears:
Access is denied. System error number: 5

CTM-9654

The GUI Server might reach the limit of maximum database connections and hang when you view Workspaces list under My Work or Others Work tabs in the Planning domain.

CTM-9655

The GUI Server response time is slow when Control-M Web attempts to fill dropdown values for filter fields. This occurs when job level authorizations are enforced.

CTM-9735

The GUI server that runs on Windows with MSSQL database might hang due to blocked SQL statements when you attempt to delete workspaces.

CTM-9745

You cannot access applications from the Applications menu in Control-M Web if you do not have authorization to the User Views tool.

CTM-9736

The Browse File option fails to locate directories in File Transfer job when the directory uses UNC paths on an account with Local Windows machine, and the following message appears:
Directory does not exist

CTM-9420

The following error message now appears in Control-M Client to prevent including folder hierarchy as part of the Job Name/Mem Name field when you add or update a service in in the Service Definition Tool:

Failed to save service definition.

For handling existing services in Control-M Web, if you run a service including folder hierarchy as part of the Job Name/Mem Name field, the following error message appears:

Failed to communicate with the server. Server error code: 422

CTM-12516The Health Check utility does not collect critical logs, which prevents proper analysis and diagnosis of issues in Workflow Insights.

 Installing the PANFT.9.0.21.204 Patch on UNIX/Linux

This procedure describes how to install patch PANFT.9.0.21.204 on UNIX/Linux.

Before You Begin

Begin

  1. Log in as the Control-M/EM user.
  2. Copy the patch installation file that you obtained into a temporary directory.
  3. Set execution flags for the patch installation file using the following command:
    chmod +x <temporary directory>/PANFT.9.0.21.204_<platform>_INSTALL.BIN
  4. Stop all Control-M/EM components.
  5. Run the following script from the Control-M/EM Home directory:
    <temporary directory>/PANFT.9.0.21.204_<platform>_INSTALL.BIN
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions until the installation is complete.
  7. Start all Control-M/EM components.
