Control-M/EM PANFT.9.0.21.002


BMC Software is releasing patch PANFT.9.0.21.002 to correct several problems in Control-M/EM 9.0.21.000 for UNIX and Windows.

Note

You must have Control-M/EM 9.0.21.000 installed before you install this patch. 

This patch is cumulative; it includes all changes delivered in patch PANFT.9.0.21.001.

You must install this patch on every environment where a Control-M/Enterprise Manager Server and Client is installed.

The Service tab in the Monitoring domain becomes inactive after a period of idle time.

CTM-7472

The Run as User Enter Password field in the Run as Users Authentication Settings window in the CCM remains empty and when trying to update causes all jobs that run by this user to fail when Compatibility mode is on.

The following issues are detected in NodeJs:

CTM-7418

The periodic calendar does not properly appear in View Schedule in Control-M Web when the first period does not start on the first day of the month.

CTM-7498

The wrong report in the Folder Manager might run when the browser language is set to United Kingdom English.

CTM-7465

The following error message appears in Automation API when you run a Jobs Definitions category report:
Failed to run report Jobs Definitions - Events_1.

CTM-7416

Issue CVE-2022-37614 is detected in the Control-M command line interface.

CTM-7496

Security vulnerability CVE-2022-7501 is detected in Control-M/EM.

CTM-7398

A search in Control-M Workload Archiving 9.0.21.000 does not return all rows of job logs for cyclic jobs with a rerun count greater than 5.

To resolve this issue, you must apply Control-M/Server patch PACTV.9.0.21.002.

CTM-7386

SSL encryption might not work after you upgrade Control-M/EM 9.0.20 to 9.0.21 in a One Install configuration. 

CTM-7500

Vulnerabilities are detected in the ESS package password (bmcryptpw utility).

 Installing the Patch on UNIX/Linux

This procedure describes how to install patch PANFT.9.0.21.002 on UNIX/Linux.

Before You Begin

Begin

  1. Log in as the Control-M/EM user.
  2. Copy the patch installation file that you obtained into a temporary directory.
  3. Set execution flags for the patch installation file using the following command:
    chmod +x PANFT.PANFT.9.0.21.002_<platform>_INSTALL.BIN
  4. Stop all Control-M/EM components.
  5. Run the following script from the Control-M/EM Home directory:
    <temporary directory>/PANFT.9.0.21.002_<platform>_INSTALL.BIN
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions until the installation is complete.
  7. Start all Control-M/EM components.

Installing the Patch on Windows

This procedure describes how to install patch PANFT.9.0.21.002 on Windows.

Before You Begin

Begin

  1. Stop all Control-M/EM components.
  2. Double-click the downloaded patch installation file.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions until the installation is complete.
  4. Start all Control-M/EM components.

Installing the Patch using Client Distribution on UNIX/Linux

This procedure describes how to install PANFT.9.0.21.002 using Client Distribution.

Begin

  1. From the Control-M/Enterprise Manager server computer, navigate to the BIN directory:
    cd $EM_HOME%/bin
  2. Run the following utility:
    em deploy_client_patch -U <EM USER> -P <EM PASSWORD> <PATH_TO_TEMPORARY_DIRECTORY_WHERE_PATCH_WAS_DOWNLOADED>/PANFT.9.0.21.002
  3. Log in to the CCM, and set the patch for deployment.
    1. From the Manage tab, click Client Distribution.
    2. Select the Fix Packs tab.
    3. Select PANFT.9.0.21.002.

When the end user logs in to the Control-M client, a notification appears instructing the user to install the patch.

Installing the Patch using Client Distribution on Windows

This procedure describes how to install PANFT.9.0.21.002 using Client Distribution.

  1. From the Control-M/Enterprise Manager server computer, navigate to the BIN directory:

  3. Run the following script:

  4. Start all Control-M/EM components.

Begin

  1. Stop all Control-M/EM components.
  2. From Windows Settings > Apps > Apps & Features, select Control-M/Enterprise Manager PANFT.9.0.21.002 (<instance name>).
  3. Select Uninstall.
  4. Start all Control-M/EM components.
