Control-M/EM and Control-M/Server on AIX End of Support Planned for the End of 2026

12 February 2024

BMC intends to end support for Control-M/EM and Control-M/Server on AIX by the end of 2026.

Precise plans are subject to change, however Control-M/EM and Control-M/Server 22.1 (9.0.22.100) will be the last version tested on AIX. These components will not be supported on AIX in version 22.2 (9.0.22.200).

Agents will continue to be supported on AIX until further notice, even though BMC recommends that you use Agentless Hosts.

BMC recommends that you migrate Control-M/EM and Control-M/Server to supported operating systems, such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, by the end of 2026.

In addition to the above, note the following:

  • The current Control-M version is 21.2 (9.0.21.200) and supports Control-M/EM and Control-M/Server on AIX.
  • The next Control-M version, 21.3 (9.0.21.300), is primarily dedicated to Helix Control-M and the unified view feature, and therefore:
    • AIX is not supported.
    • 21.2 will continue to be supported throughout the lifetime of 21.3.
    • AIX will continue to be supported on the subsequent versions, 22.0 (9.0.22) and 22.1 (9.0.22.100).
