Verify Recoverability and Integrity

Use the Recoverability report view and Recovery Management dashboard view to verify the recoverability and integrity of your objects and catalogs.

Recoverability report view

You can use the the Recoverability report view to validate the recoverability of an object set or a catalog. The report identifies any objects that are not recoverable. For example, the report identifies specific data sets that do not have available copies.

You should run the report as part of your routine disaster recovery preparations. The report relies on periodically running the ARMBGPV job on the mainframe. BMC encourages you to schedule the job to run periodically, such as weekly.

The Recoverability report provides an in-depth analysis but relies on data that might not be current. For more information, see Verifying recoverability.

Recovery Management dashboard view

The Recovery Management dashboard view provides a real-time report of object set recoverability and integrity information.  You can access a subset of recoverability reports without having to run the ARMBGPV job and without having to log in to the mainframe,  The generated report in the dashboard view is not as detailed as the Recoverability report, but the data is always current. For more information, see Verifying recoverability and integrity using the dashboard view.
