Setting tenant quota

As a cloud administrator, you can allocate specified quota for a tenant. By default, a tenant is allocated unlimited quota. After the tenant quota is specified, the user quota cannot exceed the tenant quota.

When you edit a tenant quota, you cannot specify tenant quota less that the actual usage. For example, if the tenant quota is 100, and you have allocated 50 to users, and the actual usage by users who have been allocated maximum quota is 10, while editing a tenant, you cannot specify tenant quota as less than 60.

You can allocate quota for a tenant while creating new or importing existing tenants

To view the tenant quota

  1. From the Administration Console, click the vertical Workspaces menu on the left side of the window and select Tenants.
  2. From the Tenant list, select the tenant whose quota details you want to view.
  3. In the Tenant Management pane, in the Tenant Quota area, the tenant details for the selected tenant are displayed.
The following figure describes the tenant quota details when the tenant quota is specified as unlimited.

The Utilization is displayed as n/a (not applicable) because the tenant quota is specified as unlimited.
The following figure describes the tenant quota details when the quota is specified.

In this example, the following details are displayed:
    • The Tenant Quota column displays the total number of resources, such as the servers, CPUs, memory, and local Storage allocated to the tenant.
    • The Allocated to users column displays the number of resources allocated to the users belonging to this tenant.
    • The Available to allocate column displays the number of resources available to allocate to users in this tenant.

      Note

The Available to allocate quota is calculated by deducting the quota allocated to the users from the tenant quota and the quota availed by the users who have been allocated maximum quota.

Available to allocate quota = Tenant quota - Allocated to users quota - Actual Usage of quota by users who have been allocated maximum quota.

For example, if the Tenant quota is 115, and the allocated to users is 110, plus the actual usage from the tenant quota is 1, the Available to allocate tenant quota becomes 4.

    • The Actual Usage column displays the total number of resources that are provisioned by the users belonging to the tenant.
    • The Utilization column displays the actual usage of the tenant quota, in percentage.
This column displays n/a when the tenant quota is unlimited.

This data changes when a user requests a service offering instance and the service offering instance is in the provisioning state.
