Required knowledge and skills for developers

Before you start developing your own software using the API, become familiar with the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management operational concepts described in the Key concepts, architecture, and Administering the product sections in this site.

Also, you must be familiar with the following:

  • Sending and receiving standard HTTP messages
  • A programming language that supports standard HTTP messages
  • RESTful web services programming techniques
  • Cloud computing, virtualization, and networking concepts
