Importing network container blueprints

Network container blueprints are created in BMC Network Automation and define the settings used when creating a network container. For more information, see Creating network container blueprints. For overview information about network resources, see Network resources overview.

Importing network container blueprints into BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management is required before you can create a network container.

Note

Any network container blueprints that were created after you onboarded the pod must be imported by using this procedure. BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management does not automatically import container blueprints when a new pod is onboarded. You must import each blueprint manually into BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management. However, if you have two pods in BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management and you import a container blueprint which is compatible with both pods, BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management associates the container blueprint to both pods.

Before you begin

  • BMC Network Automation must be a registered resource provider.
  • You must have previously created one or more network container blueprints in BMC Network Automation.

To import a network container blueprint

  1. From the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management Administration Console, click the vertical Workspaces menu on the left side of the window and select Resources.
  2. Under Quick Links on the left, click Pods under the General section.
  3. Click the Import Network Container Blueprints icon .
The Import Network Container Blueprints dialog box is displayed. The dialog shows the Pod name, the version number (if the pod has been updated), and a description (if available).

  4. Select the network container blueprints that you want to import.
  5. Click Import to onboard the selected blueprints and close the dialog box.

After importing a blueprint, you can then create network containers using that blueprint, as described in Creating network containers.
