Assigning a tag to an object
When used in policies, tags and tag groups help to determine the placement of user-requested services within the cloud.

Before you begin
Before you can assign a tag to an object, you must create tag groups and tags, as described in Creating and using tags and tag groups.
To assign a policy tag to an object
Beginning with release 4.0, BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management provides two user interfaces for assigning tags, depending on the type of taggable object you are editing. The two interfaces are described below:

When creating or editing a taggable object, click the tag icon
.
The Tag Details dialog box is displayed, and the table lists the tag groups and tags that are currently associated to the object that you are tagging.- From the

The selected tag group and tag are added to the table. - Click Save.
The tag is assigned to the object from which you launched the Tag Details dialog box. The tag name followed by the tag group in brackets is added to the Tags field for the object (for example: SLA[Gold]).

A list of tags appears. or click in the Add tag field. Select the tag you want to apply.
The tag appears in the Tags field.

To remove a tag assigned to an object
Beginning with release 4.0, BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management provides two user interfaces for removing tags, depending on the type of taggable object you are editing. The two interfaces are described below:
- For this style of Tags option , click the X beside the tag's name.
- For this style of Tags option
While editing a taggable object, click the Tag icon
.
The Tags dialog box opens.- Under Assigned Tags, select a tag and click De-select Tag .
