Compute resources workarea overview

The Compute Resources workarea in the Resource management workspace lists onboarded resources and lets you onboard, edit, and offboard compute resources. For overview information about those operations, see Compute resources and compute resource pools overview.

Available actions

You can perform the following actions from the Compute Resources workarea:

  • Click to onboard a compute resource.
  • Click to edit the description for the selected compute resource.
  • Click to offboard the selected compute resource.
  • Click to synchronize the onboarded virtual cluster with any changes to the virtual hosts made outside of BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management, virtual resource pools, and virtual disk repositories associated with the virtual cluster.
  • Pending Activity—Opens when a command is issued through the user interface. This table provides the status of an activity in progress

    • Click to close the Pending Activity table.

    •  Click to delete the selected action in the Pending Activity table. You cannot delete queued activities.
    •  Click to display the detailed error information.
    •  Click to open the Audit Trail workspace.
    •  Rotates to indicate that the table is refreshing.
    •  When the pending activity table spans multiple pages, click to move to another page.
    • Column headings—Click a column heading to sort the data in the table.

After you select a compute resource, you can click Details at right to show more information about the selected object.

Display management

Use the following capabilities to manage the display of information in the Compute Resources workarea:


  • Enter a search string and click Search to search for a resource.

  • Select the resource type to display in the table.
  • Click to refresh the data in the table.
  • When the table spans multiple pages, click to move to another page.
