Integrating BMC Server Automation and other brownfield BMC products

You can integrate the following brownfield BMC products to the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management solution:

  • BMC Atrium Orchestrator
  • BMC Network Automation
  • PXE Server

These BMC products are not built upon the BMC Remedy AR System platform and, therefore, must be integrated

The following procedures explain how to integrate the existing brownfield BMC products to the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management solution:

Before you begin

To integrate one or more of the BMC products listed in this topic, you must first prepare them, as follows:

  1. If any of the listed standalone BMC products are available in your environment, make sure that they meet the supported version requirements.

    Note

If the brownfield BMC products in your environment do not meet the minimum version requirements for BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management 4.x, use their standalone installers to upgrade them to their correct expected version before you integrate them with the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management installer.

  2. Make sure that the host on which the products are installed meets the prerequisites.
  3. Depending on the BMC product that you want to integrate from the following table, perform the preparatory steps:

  11. Continue with other integrations, installations, or upgrades.
For example, to upgrade your environment, you must integrate BMC AR System Server - Cloud Portal and Database - Primary to continue.

To integrate brownfield BMC products into BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management

  1. If you have any of the following products installed in your environment, integrate them by using the Integrate with an Existing Deployment option in the installer.

    Tip

For new installations of the following BMC products, choose the Modify Existing Deployment option in the installer.

  2. For detailed information about installing these products, see Installing BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management.

BMC Server Automation results after you finish the brownfield integration

After you run the BMC Server Automation Post-Install Configuration in the installer, the following changes will be made to your Application Server:

  • Three new Application Server Instances (1 Config Deployment and 2 Job Deployments) are added to the Application Server.

If you do not need these Application Server deployments, you can stop them.

  • Against the Configuration Server, the Web Services are enabled.
  • Installer creates BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management-specific objects under the Depot folder:
